If you are an American Indian/Alaska Native student looking for scholarship opportunities, below is a list of some scholarships to consider for the next academic year.
Deadline: The Academic Year 2023-2024 Graduate and Undergraduate Opportunities will be open December 15, 2022. The 2022-2023 Vocational Application is now open while funds remain available. The 2023 Graduate Summer Research Fellowship is available until January 10, 2023.
Summary: Applicant must be an enrolled member of a U.S. federally recognized tribe enrolled full time in a degree-seeking program and demonstrate financial need. Scholarship awards and amounts vary.
American Indian Education Fund Undergraduate Scholarships
Deadline: Information for this cycle has not been posted yet but should be available soon and be due in April.
Summary: Either the applicant or the applicant’s parent must have documented membership as a Native American, Alaska Native, or Native Hawaiian. Requires application, essay, transcript and documentation of membership. $2,000 scholarships awarded.
National Society of the Daughters of the American Revolution
Deadline: The application portal is now open until January 31, 2023 at 11:50pm HST.
Summary: Several scholarships are available including the DAR American Indian Scholarship and Frances Crawford Marvin American Indian Scholarship.
Association on American Indian Affairs Scholarships
Deadline: Scholarship Applications will be available for the Fall 2023-Spring 2024 school year in February 2023.
Summary: Several scholarships for undergraduate students from federally recognized tribes. One application ensures consideration for all scholarships.
Ethel and Emery Fast Scholarship Foundation
Deadline: August of each year for the fall semester, January of each year for the spring semester
Summary: American Indian applicants who have completed one year of college (graduate or undergraduate) may apply.
Deadline: Full Circle Scholarship applications are open from February 1st to May 31st each year.
Summary: Scholarships are awarded to American Indian or Alaska Native students attending tribal or non-tribal colleges; generally based upon merit or demonstrated financial need.
